Dara Katz and Betsy Kenney

The Comedic Duo Streaming Through Your AirPods

Dara Katz and Betsy Kenney want you to be in on their jokes (and, yes, even their texts). The two comedians living in New York City met at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and now co-host the weekly podcast DONE, which highlights things they and their guests are “done” with. Their monthly live show of the same name (formerly called Everybody Hates Us (But Not Tonight, Baby!) is equally as cathartic—both offer peeks into the sitcom-esque nuances of their daily communication.

Podcasts and stand-up not your thing? OK, no worries. The duo also produces scripted work, like the IFC Comedy Crib’s The Place We Live, an absurdist parody of Melrose Place–type ’90s primetime soaps (there’s even a live, improvised version you can catch at UCBT), and their directorial debut, Amazing Bagel, starring Devin Bockrath and Tim Baltz, premieres this fall at the Nitehawk Shorts Festival in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. TLDR: If you like spot-on impersonations and poking fun at life’s banalities, Katz and Kenney are about to be your new favorite thing.
