PureWow Hires Director of Finance

New York, NY – April 29, 2014 – PureWow announced today that Phillip Vuong has been hired as the director of finance. In this role, Vuong will oversee PureWow’s financial, analytical and operational business functions and work to ensure sustained growth against the company’s goals.

“We have an ambitious growth plan at PureWow and we’re lucky to have experts like Phil on board to manage critical tasks that help us maintain our leadership position in the digital space,” said Ryan Harwood, CEO of PureWow.

Vuong joins PureWow from Gakwer Media where he was director of finance and responsible for all aspects of finance and accounting for the company, including financial reporting, analysis, budgeting and forecasting. Prior to Gawker, Vuong was a senior financial analyst for ESPN where he managed the creation and execution of annual business plans for ESPN the Magazine and ESPN Books. Vuong also helped ESPN’s publishing group weather the economic downturn in 2009 by advising the division’s leadership of financial risks and opportunities.

Vuong began his career in Johnson & Johnson’s Financial Leadership Development Program, a two-year engagement that involved providing financial support for several of the company’s subsidiaries across sectors and business functions. The program included posts at Ortho Biotech Inc., McNeil Consumer Healthcare and J&J Pharmaceutical Research & Development. Vuong is a graduate of The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, where he acquired a bachelor’s degree in economics.
