ANNOUNCING PUREWOW, A FREE DAILY LIFESTYLE EMAIL PUBLICATION FOR
SOPHISTICATED, INFLUENTIAL WOMEN EVERYWHERE

The Pilot Group Joins Whoopi Goldberg, Candice Bergen, Lesley Stahl and the Women of wowOwow to Introduce PureWow for Women 35 and Up

NEW YORK, NY – September 2010 – This fall, women over 35 will have a new reason to check their email inbox every morning. PureWow will provide daily magazine-style editorial content for women in between the Gen X and Baby Boomer generations. Backed by Pilot Group and the women of wowOwow, a lifestyle website created and written by Whoopi Goldberg, Candice Bergen, Lesley Stahl, Cynthia McFadden, Lily Tomlin and wowOwow CEO, Joni Evans, among others, PureWow will cover a variety of women's topics, including culture, fashion, health, beauty, tech, travel, philanthropy and more.

"We're excited about the opportunity in PureWow. We understand the power of the email delivered publication, and think this demographic is underserved," says Bob Pittman, Pilot Group co-founder. "We're also very pleased to be working with the impressive women of wowOwow."

PureWow conducted extensive market research after noticing a void in the digital publication marketplace for women over 35. They found that these women had outgrown some of the more whimsical daily emails, and were looking for content geared towards the thinking woman, which included fashion and beauty, but also more philanthropic and cultural subjects. They also wanted their information to be interactive and actionable, something that PureWow is committed to delivering.

“We look forward to providing content that is engaging, interactive and relevant in an easy-todigest email format for women over 35, who make up 35 percent of the total U.S. population,” said PureWow CEO Ryan Harwood. “The Internet has plenty of content for women, but PureWow will target a key demographic that many outlets tend to overlook. These women are making 70 percent of total online purchases and they are the fastest growing demographic on the web."

Beginning in September, PureWow readers will receive a daily email that includes one timely discovery, whether it’s a beauty product to try, a wine to taste, a food to sample, a city to explore or a gadget to pick up.

"PureWow will be written for savvy women who are eager to stay in-the-know, but who constantly juggle an extra-busy schedule, whether they're career women, moms, married or single. Our daily emails will make it easy to know about the best of the best, and will cover the wide range of categories these multi-dimensional women are passionate about."

The PureWow daily email will rotate between nine editorial categories including:

  • Savor (food + drink)
  • Adorn (fashion + accessories)
  • Thrive (heath + wellness)
  • Enrich (arts + culture)
  • Explore (travel + destinations)
  • Simplify (gadgets + tech)
  • Embellish (skin + beauty)
  • Dwell (home + garden)
  • Give (charities + causes)

PureWow will offer companies the opportunity to reach this targeted audience with each email. Currently, CBS is signed on as a charter launch partner. For more information, or to sign up for PureWow, visit www.purewow.com.
