Break out the George Orwell and leg warmers, because Wonder Woman 2 may be flashing forward to the ’80s.
Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins and DC Entertainment president Geoff Johns hinted at the upcoming sequel’s time frame via Twitter on Saturday, June 2, the anniversary of the first film’s release.
Both Jenkins and Johns changed their Twitter profile banners to a photo touting a “WW84” logo. Fans immediately speculated that the pic was an indication that Diana Prince will pick things back up in 1984 during the Cold War, i.e. a time when foes and hair spray were aplenty.
Jenkins, Johns and writer Dave Callahan are all currently working on the Gal Gadot–centered script together, but little else is known about the sequel.
