To Genie, with Love: Will Smith's ‘Aladdin’ Tribute to Robin Williams Will Give You All the Feels

Since Instagram went offline, we’ve had a chance to dry our tears from Will Smith’s touching tribute to Robin Williams.

The Fresh Prince, who will fill the role of the blue genie for Disney’s live-action remake of Aladdin, due out on May 24, said he needed to pay respects to Williams, who was the voice actor for Genie in Disney’s classic animated movie. Williams passed away in 2014.

The Men in Black actor posted an Instagram drawing of himself and Williams as animated genies.

“I know Genies don’t have Feet… But you left some Big Shoes to fill,” the 50-year-old wrote of the comedy legend. “R.I.P., Robin!” Smith captioned the post. (We’re gonna need Instagram to go back offline again so we can gather ourselves, OK?)

The first trailer for the live-action Aladdin remake debuted on Tuesday. Our favorite part? Smith’s Genie basically channeling a blue Hitch, his title character in the 2005 rom-com.

One thing's for sure: We'll be getting flashbacks of Williams's unforgettable big blue guy throughout the entire new movie (especially since a few of the original songs are teased in the new trailer, including "Friend Like Me").

And we're using one of our wishes on unlimited tissues.
