Praise Be! Whoopi Goldberg & the ‘Sister Act’ Cast Reunited for a 25th Anniversary Performance
It’s been 25 years since Sister Mary Clarence and her gaggle of nuns captivated us with their Reno showgirl spin on classic church hymns, but on Tuesday, Whoopi Goldberg got the band back together for one last epic performance.
Goldberg joined fellow Sister Act castmates Wendy Makkena (Sister Mary Robert) and Kathy Najimy (Sister Mary Patrick) to celebrate the major milestone. Dressed in their LBH’s (little black habits), the ladies belted out “I Will Follow Him,” the film’s finale song.
The holy (re)union included an interview with Goldberg and the cast, as well as a special message from Maggie Smith (Reverend Mother), who wasn’t able to attend. In a voice recording, Smith shared, “I have such fond memories of when we did those crazy, crazy, crazy films. I send you lots of love.”
Whoop, there it is. The ladies of St. Katherine’s still got it.
