‘Wine Water’ Is a Thing…and We Have So Many Questions

If you’ve ever thought, I could really go for a glass of wine, but ditch the booze, we have news for you: Wine water is apparently a thing. (Also, you’re the first person to ever think this. Congrats.)

Wine Water, a new drink from O.Vine, is made with wine grapes…but it’s entirely nonalcoholic. The bevvy is a blend of grape essences (extracted from grape skins and seeds) and water. The result is something kinda, sorta like water, and not really wine at all. Hmm…

Take heart: It still has the beneficial compounds found in wine (like the antioxidant resveratrol), and we hear it smells and tastes like it, too. There’s a red (made from Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdot grapes) and a white variety (from Riesling and Gewürztraminer), both in sparkling and still.

Our first reaction: What the...? Our next reaction: We’d try it.
