Viola Davis is celebrating a major milestone with her husband, Julius Tennon.
The Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom star, 55, recently posted a never-before-seen photo on her personal Instagram account in honor of her 18th wedding anniversary. *Cue the confetti*
In the photo, Davis and Tennon are sitting in the back seat of a vintage car. The background is filled with inspirational quotes that are written on the wall in graffiti, including “God is love,” “Kindness” and “Love thy neighbor.”
Tennon is wearing an all-black ensemble as he wraps his arm around Davis, who is candidly leaning in as a result. The actress is wearing a gorgeous fur coat over a white top, along with statement earrings. Her hair is styled in a short pixie cut, with sideswept bangs framing her face.
Davis captioned the post, “Happy 18th Anniversary to the love of my life!! Love you Julius [heart emoji].” She even credited the photographer: Andre D. Wagner (@photodre).
Countless celebrities wished the couple a happy anniversary in the comments section. Vanessa Williams wrote, “Oh Vi! Happy Anniversary to you both! So lovely!” Chelsea Handler added, “You guys are a hot couple.” Amen to that.
Davis first met Tennon (who’s also an actor and producer) back in 2000 on the set of CBS’s City of Angels. In 2003, the couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony (we’re talking 15 guests) and then held a larger reception in Rhode Island shortly after.
In 2016, Davis renewed her vows with Tennon in front of friends and family. Although Tennon has two children from previous relationships, they are also parents to a 10-year-old daughter named Genesis, who they adopted in 2011.
