‘Haunting of Hill House’ Star Victoria Pedretti Joins ‘You’ Season 2, So Take That, Bent-Neck Lady

Sorry, Beck (Elizabeth Lail), it appears Joe (Penn Badgley) has a new woman in his life.

Netflix just announced that Victoria Pedretti will star opposite Badgley in the second season of You. You probably recognize her from The Haunting of Hill House, where she played Nell Crain.

In You, Pedretti will portray Joe’s new prey, Love Quinn, an aspiring chef who is working as a produce manager at a grocery store. Although she is uninterested in anything involving technology, she gets a new outlook on life when she meets someone who shares a similar story: Joe.

According to showrunner Sera Gamble, casting Pedretti in the role was a no-brainer after watching The Haunting of Hill House.

“It is very f****** cool that Victoria is playing this role,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “I binged Hill House, and she was incredible. And then a couple of days later, [executive producer] Greg [Berlanti] sent an email asking, ‘Have you seen Hill House? Have you seen Victoria Pedretti, wouldn’t she make a perfect Love?’ Leave it to Greg to put that together.”

Gamble went on to describe Pedretti’s character, adding, “Like her name, she’s very warm and there is a carefree aspect to her spirit that really comes from the fact that she has constructed a life for herself that’s about being in the moment and doing what she loves every day. In that way, she’s very, very different than the woman that you got to know in season one.”
