Victoria Beckham might not be joining the Spice Girls on their upcoming tour (which starts in Dublin tonight), but she's making sure her bandmates know that friendship never ends.
In fact, Beckham posted a cute throwback Instagram to celebrate the start of the tour. She captioned a shot of the whole group performing, with some words of encouragement: "Good luck to the girls today as they start their tour! x VB."
The remaining Spice Girls—Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Melanie Brown—will be making 13 stops around the U.K. Their final performance will take place on June 15 at London’s Wembley Stadium.
So, why isn't Posh Spice joining the rest of the gals? It's simple: She's never really liked performing.
Sporty Spice (aka Melanie Chisholm) revealed that tidbit during a visit to Jay Rayner’s Out to Lunch podcast. “She just doesn’t have that love of performing, and in fact, it completely petrifies her. I’m sure there are many reasons,” she said. “She’s extremely busy and successful in what she’s doing. She has put her heart and soul into her business, and…to step away from that, and…not give it the time that she does at the moment would be difficult.”
It's true, Beckham is a successful fashion designer, having launched her eponymous line in 2008. (Even Meghan Markle is a fan.)
Now seems like a great time to rewatch the cinematic masterpiece that is Spice World, no?
