Truth: We've felt a little weird getting dropped off at our front door after (a few too many) post-work margs.
Thankfully, Uber just rolled out a new feature that hides your exact pickup and drop-off addresses from the driver once they drop you off, so you never have to feel like a stranger knows exactly where you live (and what time you're usually coming and going from your home). Also, you can now also select a set of cross streets as a drop-off or pickup location instead of an address, which also helps keep your personal info private.
The address anonymization is just one of the safety tools the ride-sharing service has rolled out to combat privacy and safety concerns, along with automatic crash detection, hands-free pickups, an in-app emergency button and more.
Your driver already knows how you like your marg (over ice, lots of salt). They don't need to know where you'll be nursing your hangover, too...
