Your summer Fridays are about to get sweeter. Three words: free ice cream.
Today only, Uber is delivering free ice cream to ten cities in North America. OK, apparently the company has been delivering ice cream since 2012—news to us. But today’s free cones aren’t the full scoop. (Sorry. We had to.) Each delivery comes with a limited edition refillable cone (hmm, we're not sure if it's made of plastic or what, but we want one) that you can take to a participating McDonald's for free soft serve every Friday through September 22. It’s the ice-cream gift that keeps on giving.
How does it work? On August 11 (that’s today, friends), open the Uber app on your phone and tap to request ice cream. If you match, Uber will send the sweet treat to you and up to four friends, along with those special cones. And if you don’t match right away, keep trying (limited quantities, ugh). And just like that, your Fridays are set.
We can’t quite wrap our head around this reusable, refillable cone, but we’re not too concerned. To be honest, we were hooked at “free ice cream.”
