We Think Trevor Is Doomed on ‘The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart’ & Here’s Why

*Warning: Spoilers ahead*

After watching last night’s premiere of The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart, it’s clear that Trevor is a front-runner among the women, even though he nearly went home during the rose ceremony. (Don’t ask…) Despite his early lead, we’re not convinced that Trevor will last very long on the spin-off series, and it has everything to do with the teaser for next week’s episode.

Here’s what you need to know: The series premiere introduces viewers to 20 contestants—12 men, 8 women—who are not only single but also trying to pursue a career in music. After arriving at the mansion, Chris Harrison explains that the women are in charge this week, which means the four men who aren’t coupled up by the end of the rose ceremony will go home.

Two date cards are given out during the episode. The recipients include Ryan (who takes Jamie) and Matt (who takes Mel). When they return, the group sits down for a cocktail party before heading into the very first rose ceremony, where four unlucky musicians are sent packing: Jack, Josh, Michael and Russell.

The women are relieved when Trevor is saved by Jamie, but the hype won’t last long. Based on the promo for next week’s episode, a new contestant named Natascha arrives at the mansion and threatens to blow his cover. Why? Natascha just so happens to be friends with Trevor’s ex-girlfriend.

We know, we know. It sounds totally staged. Regardless, we think Natascha’s arrival can only mean disaster for Trevor, and here’s why.

First of all, this situation has never worked out in the past. We’ve seen mutual friends interact on previous seasons, and it always causes unnecessary drama that ultimately leads to the person(s) getting sent home. (For example, Hannah Brown and Caelynn Miller-Keyes from Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor.)

And second, it only takes one bad move to seal your fate on The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart. Since it’s formatted like Bachelor in Paradise, the men and women will alternate handing out roses. Although Trevor is safe for one more week, his ex-girlfriend drama might be just the thing to cast doubt among the women (aka the only people who can save him).

As seen during last night’s episode, anything can happen during the rose ceremony. Even though several of the women were attracted to Trevor, they gave their roses to other contestants, assuming he’d be chosen by someone. Thankfully, Jamie gave Trevor the final rose of the night, though he might not be so lucky next time…

The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart returns next Monday, April 20, at 8 p.m. on ABC.
