Tracee Ellis Ross is serving up some seriously chic '70s style on our Instagram feed—and it's clear to see where she's getting her inspiration.
The Black-ish actress recently shared a snap of one of her stylish outfits and included two throwback pics of her mom, Diana Ross. She wrote, "Like mother, like daughter."
The first photo in the slideshow features a close-up of Diana in her 1975 film, Mahogany. Her hair is pulled back into an elegant bun as she wears a wide-brimmed white hat and classy round earrings. Then, in the second slide, Tracee (AKA her twin) is seen wearing a similar hairstyle and beige hat with golden hoop earrings and a matching top. The third pic includes another snap of Tracee's mom, who can be seen wearing a trendy white top to match the hat. Like mother, like daughter indeed.
In 2018, Tracee spoke with InStyle about how her mother has influenced her love of fashion. She said, "As a kid, I saw my mom as the lady in the sparkly dress on the stage who sang. But as I’ve gotten older, I’ve found the language to articulate that what I was seeing was a woman in her full glory being in connection with this gift she was given, being glamorous and sexy but not in a way that’s 'Look at me.' We live in a 'Look at me' culture."
She continued, "I was raised to view sexy as being at the height of yourself. Clothing was one of the ways you could wear your inside on your outside."
Given that Tracee has been flaunting so many fashionable looks from day one, it's clear Diana's penchant for great style has rubbed off on her daughter.
