Every year, Time Out surveys thousands of people from cities around the world to figure out which ones are the most exciting to live in and travel to. This time, 15,000 people from 32 cities across the globe decided that the home of deep-dish pizza, Wrigley Field and Goose Island is the greatest city in the world, beating out New York, Philadelphia, Porto, London, Melbourne, Austin and more.
That’s right: Chicago nabbed the number-one spot on Time Out’s City Life Index for 2018, with residents raving about the lively bar and music scene, diverse neighborhoods, amazing food and affordability, while only falling short in the safety category.
Porto, Portugal, came in second overall and was cited as the most livable and heartwarming city, while New York ranked third, with respondents citing its vivid nightlife and proud residents.
Oh, and it’s the name of a future reality star. Take that, Porto Kardashian.
