Girls Trip 2 may not officially be in the works, but Tiffany Haddish already has a pretty solid idea for a plot—and it sounds even more intriguing than the first movie.

PureWow recently sat down with the Grammy-winning actress and comedian, who partnered with CÎROC in the newest iteration of #CIROCStands to help amplify voices in the Black community. While discussing the possibility of a Girls Trip sequel, Haddish opened up about where she’d like to see the Flossy Posse next, and we’re already loving the idea.

“If there was a sequel, I would love to see us go to Africa,” she told us. “Why not show where we come from? Why not show the beautiful side of things? Why not Africa?”

Haddish also explained that it could show a different side of the continent and clear up misconceptions people have. "I mean, growing up, I remember watching things about Africa—[I saw] kids with flies on their face and big bellies, and everybody’s starving, when that is not the case,” she said. “I would like to change that narrative.”

For those who aren’t familiar with the first film, Girls’ Trip follows Ryan (Regina Hall), Sasha (Queen Latifah), Lisa (Jada Pinkett Smith) and Dina (Haddish), four friends who embark on a wild adventure after traveling to New Orleans to attend the Essence Music Festival.

While there have been talks of a potential Girls Trip 2 since 2018 (Hall previously told Buzzfeed that she and the team were “trying to make that happen”), Haddish noted that an official sequel has yet to be confirmed. However, fans can still expect to see the comedian in her upcoming films, including Here Today, The Card Counter, and Bad Trip, which hits Netflix on 26th.

We’ll be on the lookout for these new projects, but fingers crossed that the fabulous Flossy Posse get to visit Africa in a Girls Trip sequel.
