That's why we're so on board with one teacher's plan to make things a little easier for her students.
Kristin Heavner, a middle school teacher in Michigan, recently posted the above photo on Facebook to show other teachers how to help tweens who start their periods unexpectedly during school hours.
In a discreet pouch that looks exactly like a pencil case, Heavner stashes a few pads, tampons and liners, as well as some prewrapped disposable wipes. She says her students know that they can come to her without making a huge deal out of it.
If only this had existed back in 1994...
