In honor of Baby Safety Month (it’s a thing), Target is resurrecting its car seat trade-in program for the second time this year. Hello, 20-percent-off coupons.
But it’s not just any old trade-in: This time, you’ll be able to redeem the discount on even more items. In addition to the usual car seats, car seat bases, travel systems and strollers, select baby home gear is also included. We’re talking playards, high chairs, swings, rockers and bouncers—aka the expen$ive stuff.
Even better than your own personal deep-clean is the fact that the car seats will be recycled into new products, like pallets, plastic buckets, steel beams, carpet padding and construction materials. According to a Target press release, more than 306,000 car seats (or 4.6 million pounds of materials) have been recycled since the program started in 2016.
To partake in the savings, bring your used, expired and unwanted car seats (of any kind) to your local Target’s guest services department anytime from now through September 22. For each car seat traded in, you’ll receive one 20-percent-off coupon, eligible for use online and in stores through October 6.
Look at you, saving the planet—one sticky, crumb-laden, worn-out car seat at a time.
