Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Superfans Planted 100,000 Trees in Their Honor—& They Just Unveiled ‘Archie’s Wood’

There’s no denying that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have the most dedicated fans in the world (including us). In fact, a group of the couple’s supporters launched an environmental campaign in their honor.

Yep, back in 2019, fans of the no-longer royal couple started an initiative in hopes of planting 10,000 trees. Titled Sussex Great Forest, the campaign is dedicated to planting trees worldwide in honor of Meghan and Harry’s conservation work as well as their son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.

Since its inception, donations have continued to surpass expectations. So much so that the original goal of 10,000 was quickly exceeded, with more than 115,000 trees planted around the globe. Pretty impressive.

Last week, Sussex Great Forest shared a new update revealing that 530 more trees have now been planted at an old farm in upstate New York. The best part? This little project has quite a sweet (and meaningful) name: "Archie's Woods."

“Thank you to Toby and the incredible team at Woods Ravine Farm,” SGF wrote on Twitter. “They’re planting 530 trees in #SussexGreatForest—our largest grove of planted trees yet. A once abandoned farm in upstate New York is now the home of #ArchiesWoods.”

Before the duke and duchess said goodbye to their social media accounts (for now), the duo shared their appreciation for SGF. "Huge thanks to the amazing group of people who have launched the grassroots Sussex Great Forest initiative,” they wrote on Instagram. “What a special surprise! The aim of this project is to plant 10,000 trees around the world by donating globally and planting locally. We are so inspired! Thank you!”

We have a feeling they are going to love the newest addition.
