‘This Is Us’ May Not Be Back ‘Til 2021, But Susan Kelechi Watson Is Dropping Season 5 Deets

Susan Kelechi Watson (Beth Pearson) is opening up about what’s to come in This Is Us season five, and we’re all ears.

The 39-year-old actress appeared on a recent episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan, where she dished on what fans can expect from the new episodes when the popular series returns to NBC in January 2021. (We know, but it’ll be here before you know it.)

The clip begins with co-hosts Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest welcoming her to the show. After revealing that she did her own hair and makeup for her Live appearance, Watson changes the subject to This Is Us season five.

Although she’s been “sworn to secrecy” for spoilers, Watson shares details on the little information that she has. “Usually, [series creator Dan Fogelman] gives us a whole arc of the season, and then we kind of get more specific updates as we go,” she says.

Watson also reveals that she’s just as clueless as we are, adding, “As for me right now, I’m caught up to where the audience is. So, sometimes we know the whole arc and then sometimes we get bits as we go.”

We’re not entirely sure that Watson is telling the whole truth, especially since she concludes by saying, “But usually, we know more than we let on.”

Suspicious, indeed.
