The trailer for the new, George Clooney-directed film Suburbicon just dropped...and it looks really damn good.
Clooney draws on his Ocean’s Eleven and parenting expertise to bring the story of a suburban father pushed to his limits to the screen.
In the trailer, we’re introduced to a Norman Rockwell-esque suburban utopia, where order reigns and lawns are perfectly manicured. Matt Damon stars as the bespectacled Gardner Lodge, a man who begins to unravel after his wife is murdered by the mob out of the blue. In the aftermath of his wife’s death,Gardner appears to seek revenge by murdering a man in the street and going after mobsters like Oscar Isaac (and evidently is too busy fighting to get his glasses fixed). Thankfully, his sister-in-law —played by Julianne Moore—moves in to look after his young son while the town erupts into further chaos.
The '50s-era dark comedy script comes from the collectively brilliant minds of Clooney, his producing partner Grant Heslov and Joel and Ethan Coen (Fargo, The Big Lebowski).
Suburbicon sock hops into theaters October 27. P.S.: We'll watch anything with your name on it, George Clooney. (You too, Damon.)
