Weird Science! Netflix Releases ‘Stranger Things’ Season 2 Premiere Date and New Teaser
Grab you pre-contact-lens-wearing oversized ’80s specs, head gear (why not?) and a box of Eggo Waffles because Netflix just released the premiere date and new Stranger Things season two teaser.
The streaming giant will release nine new episodes of the hit sci-fi drama on October 27—just in time for Halloween. Season two takes place in 1984, and while the teaser provides only a 25-second clip of the boys on a joyride, the tagline promises things will only get stranger during our second trip to Hawkins, Indiana.
For those slightly miffed by the blasé teaser, the show's creators, Ross and Matt Duffer, shared some substantial deets of the second season in early June. The Duffer Brothers explained that season two will explore Hawkins as it struggles to recuperate from the whole Demogorgon and Hawkins Lab thing (yipes) and now that poor little Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down. Alas, they also warned of something bigger and scarier looming in the Stranger Things universe. Dun, dun dunnnnn!
We def call dibs on the Eleven costume for Halloween...again. (There, we said it, Jane. You snooze, you lose—and we all know you and Kelly make an excellent Barb duo.)
