Just when we thought the kids from Stranger Things couldn’t get any cuter, Netflix went and released the cast’s audition tapes. Needless to say, even before their big break, this tween squad had serious star power.
In the first episode of the aftershow, Beyond Stranger Things, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Mike (Finn Wolfhard) sit down with host Jim Rash, producer Shawn Levy and creators Matt and Ross Duffer to watch clips from their Stranger Things auditions. In the tapes are Brown and Wolfhard, along with Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), Noah Schnapp (Will) and Caleb McLoughlin (Lucas).
While they were all just between 10 and 13 years old when they auditioned (the actors are now 13 to 16 years old), the kids clearly have more talent in their pinkies than we do in our entire body—and at half (OK, a third) our age.
Try not to cringe along with Brown as she watches her own tapes (standing ovation for the on-command tears) or laugh when Wolfhard admits he’s “sick” in bed and filming on his iPhone. The kid still manages to nail all the lines.
Our only question: Where the hell is Barb(’s tape)?
