News Anchor Stephanie Ruhle Went on Live TV with Her Kid in Her Lap and Parents Everywhere Were Like, 'Yup'

As any parent will tell you (especially now, when so many people are working from home), kids don't always have the best timing.

Such was the case when NBC News anchor Stephanie Ruhle delivered a live broadcast from her home with her 11-year-old son, Reese, laying on her lap.

Ruhle told TODAY Parents that Reese writes for his school newspaper and wants to be a reporter. Before his mom's broadcast, he wanted her to look over his notes for a piece he was writing about why saving your allowance is better than spending it.

While giving him feedback, she lowered her earpiece—which she now calls a rookie mistake. By the time she realized the broadcast was starting, she knew Reese would have to be in it for the long haul. “I didn’t want to just punt (Reese) off the stool,” she said. “Luckily, he’s been around long enough to know to stop talking and hang tight until commercial.”

Ruhle was rightfully praised for the moment on the internet, with commenters lauding her multitasking superpowers. Ruhle's colleague Hoda Kotb even posted the moment on her Instagram with the hashtag "#mamasgetitdone."

We'll say it louder for the people in the back: Moms rock.
