Calling all wannabe Southern belles: The gorgeous home featured in the 1989 classic Steel Magnolias is now a bed-and-breakfast, and it’s just as charming as you would expect.
It’s been nearly 30 years since dream team Sally Field, Julia Roberts, Shirley MacLaine, Olympia Dukakis, Dolly Parton and Daryl Hannah graced our screens in the heartwarming flick, but this story of love, loss and friendship still gives us all the feels. (And tears. So many tears.)
So grab your girlfriends and head on down to the ultra-charming town of Natchitoches, Louisiana (aka Chinquapin), to walk in the footsteps of the Truvy’s Beauty Spot ladies. The beautiful Steel Magnolia House features six suites named after the characters from the film and plenty of movie memorabilia.
Personally, we have our eyes on the Shelby Room, complete with Shelby’s (Julia Roberts) “signature” pink. And the outside porch looks perfect for sipping sweet tea while gossiping with your gal pals and enjoying some of that famous Southern hospitality.
