‘Star Wars’ Fam Honors Carrie Fisher with Beautiful Tribute
Grab your tissues, ladies and gents. The Star Wars family released a touching tribute to Carrie Fisher to conclude the film's 40th anniversary celebrations, and the (tearjerker) Force is strong.
Fisher was born to famous parents Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher in 1956, but her family’s prior success didn’t stop her from becoming a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry. Although she has a number of accomplishments under her two braided buns, Fisher will always be remembered for her portrayal of the beautiful, intelligent and unstoppable cloaked princess from a galaxy far, far away, Leia Organa.
We knew the Star Wars fam would eventually pay tribute to the late actress, but we couldn’t be happier with the execution. The clip features a montage of behind-the-scenes footage from the original trilogy, tidbits from newer films and never-before-seen footage of Fisher on the set of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Oh, and Fisher's daughter, Billie Lourd—who plays earmuffed Chanel #3 in Scream Queens—wears a Leia-inspired robe and even recites her mom's “Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi” monologue for the crowd. *Reaches for tissues*
May the Force always be with you, Carrie Fisher.
