Sophie, Countess of Wessex, Pulled a Total Prince William on Her Latest Outing

Sophie, Countess of Wessex, is following in Prince William’s footsteps and stepping out for a beer.

On Wednesday, the 55-year-old royal paid a visit to the Half Moon Windlesham pub, which re-opened over the weekend, to meet with fellow members of the Women's Institute. During the event, Sophie spoke with the establishment’s owners, the Sturt family, as well as kitchen and bar staff to learn how the business has been affected by COVID-19 and what changes it needed to make in order to welcome patrons again.

The countess also spent time in the pub’s garden with the other WI members to discuss how they have been supporting the local community during the lockdown. Not to mention, she also met Hedrix, a 15-week-old cocker spaniel puppy.

For the occasion, the mother of two looked chic in a maroon long-sleeve top and a cream-colored skirt. See snaps from the engagement below.

The royal has been spending lockdown at her Surrey home with husband Prince Edward, 56, and their two children, Lady Louise Windsor, 16, and James, Viscount Severn, 12. However, this is the third time we’ve seen the Countess of Wessex leave quarantine for a public outing. Last month, she paid a visit to St. John Ambulance’s Operational Support Hub, an organization that provides first aid and emergency medical services, to meet with and thank volunteers for their work.

Days earlier, she stopped by Childline NSPCC—the U.K.'s leading children's charity that focuses on preventing abuse and helping those affected to recover—to thank staff and volunteers for supporting vulnerable children.

Sophie’s trip to the pub comes on the heels of her cousin, Prince William’s, visit to the historic Rose & Crown pub in Snettisham, where chatted with the owners and staff and enjoyed a Aspall cider.

Now, if we could just figure out the countess’s drink of choice.
