Solange Knowles Accessorized Her Met Gala Outfit with…an Actual Snake

Solange Knowles took the 2019 Met Gala so seriously that she accessorized her snakeskin getup with an actual python. (And no, we’re not kidding.)

Prior to leaving for the event, the 32-year-old singer posted a slideshow on Instagram and confirmed that her muse was, in fact, a real-life snake.

Indeed, in the pics, the “Almeda” singer is holding a small snake, which perfectly complements her printed nails.

Knowles’s look was entirely custom-made by Salvatore Ferragamo’s creative director Paul Andrew. It consisted of a long-sleeve bodysuit with dropped shoulders and matching thigh-high boots. She added a touch of bling with rings, bracelets and a sparkly necklace, all courtesy of Piaget.

The theme of this year’s Met Gala was “Camp: Notes on Fashion,” which is a tribute to Susan Sontag’s celebrated essay. According to Sontag, “camp” is defined as “a sensibility that revels in artifice, stylization, theatricalization, irony, playfulness, and exaggeration rather than content.”

The real question is…was the snake on Knowles the entire time? Or did she ditch the little fella before leaving the gala? We really, really hope it’s the latter.
