Sofía Vergara Looks Like a Classic Hollywood Actress in Throwback Glamour Shots

While many of us know Sofía Vergara for her Emmy-nominated role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on Modern Family, the 49-year-old star has been in the spotlight for quite some time.

Beginning her career as a model and TV host in the late ’80s/early ’90s, Vergara nabbed ad campaigns and spots on game shows before winning her role on the hit ABC sitcom. And luckily for us, Vergara loves to share many of her vintage modeling throwbacks to Instagram.

Yesterday evening, Vergara shared what she deemed “throwback Friday” pics (based on her hashtag) that make her look like an old Hollywood actress. These black-and-white glamour shots, which were snapped by Vergara's longtime friend and photographer, Barry Peele, show the actress posing in a white jacket and black sun hat, as well as large hoop earrings.

Vergara captioned the slideshow, “#tbf los Angeles. gracias @barrypeele !!!”

Fans loved the glamorous photos, like one user who said, “OMG STUNNING,” or another who commented, “Divine divine!!!” We weren't the only ones who noticed the vintage appearance of the photos, either. One user commented, “You remind me of Sophia Loren in the second pic.”

Peele, who captured the photos, has been a friend of the America's Got Talent judge for years, and it seems he's been taking pics of her for quite some time too.

Back in September, Vergara shared another set of portraits that were taken by Peele, which she captioned, “#tbt Los Angeles 2003 @barrypeele.”

Peele has talked about his friendship with Vergara on his own account too. In 2020, he made a post for the actress's birthday by sharing a major throwback, along with a caption that said, “Happy Birthday Toty. From then to now, what a fun ride it’s been so far. The one pictured wasn’t our first and today’s won’t be our last...I can’t wait to see what the future holds in store for us both #loveyoulongtime @sofiavergara.”
