Sofía Vergara Shares Throwback Photo of Her Marilyn Monroe Costume on ‘Modern Family’

Although we're not sure whether Sofía Vergara got dressed up for Halloween this year, the actress still got in the holiday spirit by looking back at one of her favorite costumes.

In a new Instagram post, Vergara shared a couple rare behind-the-scenes images from the filming of a Modern Family Halloween episode, titled “Good Grief.” The fifth episode of season ten shows the family dealing with the sudden death of Claire and Mitchell's mother, DeDe (played by Shelley Long) on the day of Halloween, and Vergara spends much of the episode dressed as Marilyn Monroe.

Along with the two photos, Vergara captioned her post, “Halloween!!! #tb Modern Fam,” with a pumpkin, ghost and skull and crossbones emoji. The photos show the actress goofing off and taking pics with her co-stars, including Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Julie Bowen (who can be seen peeking out from behind a blanket in the first photo).

It's clear that Vergara enjoyed dressing up as the superstar, because this isn't the first time she's posted a throwback from the episode.

At the start of October last year, the America's Got Talent judge shared a clip from the same episode and said, “October 1st #tbt when Gloria dressed up as Marilyn Monroe #ModernFamily.”

Throughout the holiday-themed installment, Gloria believes that she is being haunted by a doll fashioned after DeDe Pritchett, which is exhibited in the clip she posted. In the video, Gloria opens the fridge and sees the DeDe doll and quickly throws it in the trash and starts praying to herself in Spanish.

Clearly fans still love the episode, too. One user wrote, “I miss Modern Family so much aaah,” while another said, “Modern Family OWNS Halloween.”

We never get tired of seeing this costume either.
