Sofia Vergara documented a very important annual appointment on Instagram to raise awareness for breast-cancer early detection by regularly scanning “the girls.”
Over the weekend, Vergara shared a snap of herself dancing in front of a mammography machine in a robe and captioned the post, “You have to do it!!! #mammogram #medicalimaging women’s imaging,” along with two flexing emojis.
This isn’t the first time the Modern Family star has taken to Instagram to encourage other women to take their health seriously. In 2016, she posted a similar mammogram selfie, writing, “Its [sic] that time of the year.”
October marks National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The American Cancer Society recommends all women over the age of 45 receive a yearly mammogram, so the 45-year-old actress seems to be right on schedule. (But talk to your doctor about your family history to know if you should be going in earlier.)
