Simone Biles Gets Mistaken for a Child By a Flight Attendant and Shares Her Experience on Instagram

Simone Biles may be a professional gymnast, but she still sometimes finds herself in awkward situations—particularly ones that involve her age.

The Olympic gold medalist recently recounted the time a flight attendant mistook her for a young child and offered her a coloring book. On her Instagram Story, the 25-year-old athlete shared a screenshot of herself looking quite embarrassed and wrote, “Not the flight attendant trying to give me a coloring book when I board.....I said ‘No I’m good, I’m 25.’”

While yes, the moment would have been embarrassing for anyone, Biles normally wouldn’t need an introduction. Aside from having a few Olympic gold medals under her belt, she was recently given the Presidential Medal of Freedom by U.S. President Joe Biden.

The award is one of the highest honors in the United States and it recognizes “exemplary contributions to the prosperity, values, or security of the United States, world peace, or other significant societal, public or private endeavors.”

Alongside Biles, Biden also selected Sister Simone Campbell, Julieta García, Gabrielle Giffords, Fred Gray, Steve Jobs, Father Alexander Karloutsos, Khizr Khan, Sandra Lindsay, John McCain, Diane Nash, Megan Rapinoe, Alan Simpson, Richard Trumka, Wilma Vaught, Denzel Washington and Raúl Yzaguirre.

Now we can’t help but wonder: What other awkward stories does Biles have up her sleeve?
