Here comes the bridal video! In a new Instagram post this week, Simone Biles, 26, shared the official film that was made to commemorate her nuptials with Jonathan Owens, 28, from this past May.
The video, which was made by Iris Films videographer Tony Pombo, captures the romantic weekend, which took place at Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Pombo's caption read: “Simone + Jonathan: the Owens’ | Made for Each Other.”
The six-minute video captures all the emotions of the weekend, with plenty of heartfelt moments, as well as more playful ones.
It starts out with interviews that were conducted prior to the ceremony, with Biles saying, “I'm kinda letting the day come, I'm trying to really embrace it and not be too nervous.” This is followed by Owens humorously saying, “I'm a little nervous—I ain’t gonna lie to you, man.”
Then, we get to hear snippets from the couple's vows to one another, as well as from speeches given by friends and family. (Plus, there are loads of shots of the gorgeous venue.)
The NFL player and the Olympic gymnast celebrated with their loved ones on May 6, 2023. However, this wasn't actually the *official* ceremony.
In fact, the two formally tied the knot on April 22, at a courthouse in Houston, Texas. Biles revealed later on her Instagram Story that because they had decided to have a destination wedding, they had to legally be married ahead of time. “We had to get married ‘legally’ here in the U.S. since our wedding will be a destination wedding,” the gold medalist said.
As Simone says to Jonathan in the video: “From the first day I met you, I knew I had found my future husband.” Talk about good powers of intuition.
