She captioned the post, “triple-double,” with a silly face emoji. According to the Olympic Channel, the 25-time world medalist performed a “triple-twisting double back off the balance beam” and, of course, nailed it. Oh, and per Cosmo, the move has never been done before.
While social distancing, Biles has been keeping herself busy with training, fun TikToks and a handstand challenge that wasn’t really a challenge at all for the 22-year-old gymnast. (Seriously, you try taking off your sweatpants while doing a handstand.)
While we have the video on a constant loop, don’t expect Biles to showcase the dismount in her routine next year. The sport's international governing body declared the move too dangerous to perform. However, that hasn’t stopped the gymnast from taking a risk and showing it off for fans.
This isn’t the first time Biles made jaws drop and reminded us why she's one of the most decorated female of all time. At the U.S. Gymnastics Championship in Kansas City, Missouri, the all-around world champion made history as she landed a triple-twisting double somersault (which is a very difficult move to master).
Keep killing it, Simone!
