Sherri Shepherd Supports Preacher Whose Wig Fell Off by Recreating the Moment on Her Live Talk Show

As the old saying goes, “The show must go on.” On the latest episode of Sherri, comedian and talk show host Sherri Shepherd, 56, experienced a sudden (and clearly planned) wig mishap on live television, and instead of running offstage, she took the moment in stride.

During the segment, the daytime talk show host recalled the viral moment pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts lost her wig during a church sermon. This led Shepherd to talk about her personal experience with wigs.

“The thing about wigs is when it starts sliding, you can feel it slide,” Shepherd explained. “Because you will start out with it down here, and all of a sudden, it starts making its way up.”

Shepherd (who is a big fan of the preacher) commended Roberts for continuing her sermon only wearing her wig cap. “I was so inspired by Sarah Jakes [because] I know how that happens.” That’s when Shepherd jumped out of her seat, her wig slipped off her head and she made a big show of attempting to put it back on.

“Oh shoot,” she told the viewers. “Oh, my god.” Meanwhile, in the audience, people could be heard clapping and laughing loudly. One of the cameras even cut to one of the attendees looking completely stunned.

The entire moment of support for Roberts was reposted on the official Sherri Instagram page. In the comments section of the post, fans had nothing but praise for the talk show host. For instance, one person commented, “This is why we love you, Sherri.” Another fan wrote, “Omg I love this.”

We love you, Sherri.
