At 7-foot-1, Shaquille O’Neal is a force to be reckoned with. One shark, however, was definitely not intimidated when they had a chance meeting.

The former NBA star was forced to face his fears while filming Shaq Does Shark Week for the Discovery Channel’s celebrated annual event...when a literal shark invaded his personal space.

It all started when the basketball legend entered his custom-made “Shaq Cage,” which measures at 12 feet tall by 6 feet wide, while shooting the show in the Bahamas. Relaxing, right? (Nope.)

To accommodate O’Neal’s size and increase visibility, the construction team spaced the metal bars of the cage a little wider than usual. So wide, in fact, that a little shark was able to wriggle through the bars and come inside with him.

Surprisingly, this is the first time a situation like this has occurred in Shark Week’s 30-year history, but something tells us the “Shaq Cage” has been immediately retired.

Luckily, O’Neal kept his cool and his sense of humor. After exiting the death trap, he exclaimed, “I survived a shark attack, you b**ches!”

Better you than us, Shaq.
