Disneyland: a hot, steamy roller-coaster-filled wonderland of screaming kids and extremely long lines. But it’s also a place where dreams really do come true. Case in point: A group of service dogs spent a day at the park and proved they really are very good boys.
The service dogs spent the day with their owners at the California theme park through an organization called Canine Companions for Independence, a nonprofit that provides service dogs to people with disabilities at no cost to the recipient, and the photos would make even the grumpiest Donald Duck smile. Besides posing for pictures in Mickey Mouse ears (we see you, golden girl in those rose-gold Minnie ears), the dogs and their human companions met Pooh Bear, Pluto and Chip ’n’ Dale, rode in Alice’s giant teacups and had an all-around fantastic field trip.
All in favor of making Service Dog Day an official Disneyland holiday, say “woof.”
