No, the surprise guest wasn’t Beyoncé (ho-hum), but a close second: Serena Williams.
The Grace and Frankie star kicked off her number by dancing in front of a wall. All of a sudden, the wall moved aside and there was Williams, 37, standing atop a bus in a black leotard, black stiletto boots and a gold statement necklace á la Yoncé.
Not even Roddick could contain his excitement at seeing Williams on stage with his wife, and although the clip doesn’t reveal who won, all signs point to team Decker and Williams.
In case it somehow slipped your mind, Williams appeared in Beyoncé’s actual “Sorry” music video, so it’s no surprise that she looked like a vet lip-syncing the words and showcasing her Bey-like dance moves. Her surprise feature in the 2016 video from the Lemonade visual album showed her traipsing around a Louisiana plantation home and then twerking next to Beyoncé as she relaxed on a throne.
When Teigen’s co-host, LL Cool J, asked Williams what it felt like to (kinda) reprise her role as a Beyoncé back-up dancer, she said, “Oh, my God. It was so fun. It was so fun. We’re here to win this.”
Our money’s on the ladies come the Lip Sync Battle episode’s premiere on Thursday, January 31, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Paramount Network.
