Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Outranks Beyoncé on the ‘Forbes’ 2017 Highest-Paid Entertainers List
It's all about the Benjamins, baby. Rapper, entrepreneur, baller and shot-caller Sean “Diddy” Combs has been named the top-earning celebrity (yes, above Beyoncé) on Forbes's annual Highest-Paid Celebrity List for 2017, which was released today.
Puff Daddy, P Diddy, Diddy, P whatever raked in a cool $130 million in earnings this year, proving regardless of his momentary moniker, the man knows how to turn a profit, and well. According to Forbes, Combs made his Benjis by partnering with Ciroc vodka, selling one-third of his clothing line Sean John for an estimated $70 million and performing throughout his sold-out Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour.
Combs even outranked Beyoncé, who had her second most lucrative year ever, earning $105 million for her Formation World Tour and the release of her album Lemonade.
Author J.K. Rowling ($95 million), singer/rapper Drake ($94 million) and soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo ($93 million) rounded out the top five spots for top earners. Musician The Weeknd (the funky-haired guy pictured above who's always hanging with Selena Gomez) made his first appearance on the list at number six with $93 million. Miss Havisham Taylor Swift, who was the number one earnings queen on Forbes's 2016 list, dropped down to number 49 with reported yearly earnings of $44 million. Pssht, pennies.
And the grand total of combined earnings for the entire 2017 Celebrity 100 List? A casual $5.15 billion.
