Sarah Jessica Parker ‘Stole’ Something from the ‘And Just Like That’ Set—But It’s Not What You Think

Sarah Jessica Parker took something home from the set of And Just Like That. And surprisingly, it wasn’t Carrie’s iconic wedding dress.

This week, the 58-year-old actress posted a slideshow of photos on Instagram featuring her newest pet: a cat named Lotus.

If the cat looks familiar, that’s because it’s the same animal featured in the Sex and the City spin-off. In And Just Like That, Carrie Bradshaw (Parker) adopts the cat, named Shoe, after Che Diaz (Sara Ramírez) brings the feline to Carrie’s apartment. And now, Parker has adopted the animal IRL.

The caption read, “His off-camera name is Lotus. He and his siblings were all given botanical names when they were rescued as newborns by the @cthumanesociety.”

Parker confirmed that Lotus has joined her family, which includes her husband, Matthew Broderick, and two cat siblings. She added, “Adopted officially by the Parker/Broderick family in April 2023. He joins Rémy and Smila whom we adopted in May 2022.”

SJP concluded her caption, “If he looks familiar, that’s because he is. X, SJ.”

Fans shared heartfelt messages in the comments section of the post. One person wrote, “I knew he was your real cat. You can’t fake that bond x.” Another added, “Shoe is the best addition to the SATC universe. Please more Shoe next season.” Someone even said what we’re all thinking: “And just like cat.”

Max has already renewed And Just Like That for season three, but it isn’t expected to premiere until sometime next year. The main trio will reprise their roles—including Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte York).

Although it hasn’t been confirmed, we believe Lotus (Shoe) will also have a spot on the cast list. *Crosses fingers*
