We’re only a few weeks away from King Charles’s coronation ceremony, which is going to take place on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Westminster Abbey in London. The invitations have already been sent to all of the guests (including Prince Harry). However, there is one royal duchess who won’t be attending the crowning event.

According to People, Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson, 63, has not been invited to the king’s coronation. (That said, according to Daily Beast, she did get an invite to the following day's coronation concert.) Earlier this month, the Duchess of York made an appearance on the British talk show, Loose Women, and revealed that she had a feeling that she wouldn’t receive an invitation to the monarch’s celebration.

“I personally will be having a little tearoom and coronation chicken sandwich and putting out the bunting, that’s what I'm going to be doing. Because that would make me very happy,” Ferguson said at the time. “I also love to watch it on the telly because you hear a lot on the telly. The commentators are always good. And then all the family come back.”

While referring to her former husband, Prince Andrew (who will attend the coronation), Ferguson added, “Because, remember, I am divorced from him. I don’t expect—you can't have it both ways. You can't be divorced and then say, ‘I want this.’ You’re in or you’re out.”

This latest royal reveal comes after the palace announced that the king’s youngest son, Prince Harry, will be flying back to London to attend his father’s coronation ceremony. But, he won’t be joined by his wife, Meghan Markle, 41, and their two children: Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1.

Per People, Prince Harry really “wanted to be at the service to support his father” during this tremendous milestone. But, he will not take part in the other festivities planned for the weekend.
