Royal News Roundup: Kate Middleton’s White Gown, Elton John’s Surprise Gift & More
Here’s all the royal news you need to know for the week of November 23, 2022.
- This week, Prince William and Kate Middleton joined a ceremonial procession in honor of President Cyril Ramaphosa, who was visiting from South Africa. During the outing, Princess Catherine wore a stunning magenta outfit that seemingly paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth (who often wore monochrome ensembles).
- That night, the couple attended a fancy state dinner at Buckingham Palace. The Princess of Wales stole the show in a gorgeous white gown by Jenny Packham featuring cape-like sleeves and bejeweled shoulders. She accessorized with Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot tiara, which was one of Princess Diana’s favorite accessories.
- Queen Consort Camilla Parker Bowles also wore a sweet tribute to the late monarch: the Belgian Sapphire Tiara, which previously belonged to Queen Elizabeth.
- Elton John revealed that he received a surprise gift from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The couple filmed a special video to honor the musical legend’s final tour, Farewell Yellow Brick Road.
- According to People magazine, Prince Harry and Markle’s docuseries will premiere on Netflix in December. (That’s three months before the duke’s memoir, Spare, hits bookshelves.)
- During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, Craig David discussed his experience performing at Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee. The singer revealed that he was approached by Prince William, who explained that Prince George was infatuated with the musician’s blue sequin tracksuit.
- In semi-royal news, Disney confirmed it’s in the early stages of developing Princess Diaries 3. According to an exclusive report by The Hollywood Reporter, the third installment will continue the story of the beloved franchise, rather than serving as a reboot.
