The Royal Family Responds to Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s Baby Announcement

The royal family just spoke out after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced that they’re expecting their second child together.

Earlier today, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson released a statement that confirmed the family is “delighted” about the Duchess of Sussex’s surprise pregnancy.

“Her Majesty, [the] Duke of Edinburgh, [the] Prince of Wales and the entire family are delighted and wish them well,” it read, according to Entertainment Tonight.

The news comes just two days after Prince Harry and Markle paid tribute to Princess Diana by announcing their pregnancy on Valentine’s Day. “We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child,” a rep told People.

The couple’s photographer, Misan Harriman, shared a sweet black and white photo on Instagram, where Markle can be seen showing off her baby bump. He wrote, “Meg, I was there at your wedding to witness this love story begin, and my friend, I am honoured to capture it grow. Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on this joyous news!”

In the meantime, we’ll be patiently waiting to see how Prince William and Kate Middleton shared their well wishes for the growing family.
