‘Roséwave’ Is Apparently the Soundtrack of Summer—Heres What It Is

Whether you prefer a Jon Bon Jovi vintage or a 40-ounce bottle, it’s safe to say that rosé is the drink of the summer. (And last summer, and the one before that.)

And now, our friends at NPR have introduced us to roséwave, the appropriately named playlist for the season.

“We didn’t invent a genre; we just gave the lifestyle a name,” writes producer Lars Gotrich.

And what exactly is roséwave? It’s the easy listening, summer pop music that’s the perfect background noise to your garden fête, rooftop hang or anyplace where rosé is on the menu. Think: Whitney Houston, Vampire Weekend, Lorde, Beyoncé and every other artist that you love to bop your head along to (with a drink in hand).

If you need further clarification, see NPR’s Shade Your Summer Pink Spotify playlist. Cheers.
