Roseanne and the Conner clan are the latest beloved sitcom family to join the ’90s revival pageantry and are officially coming home to ABC for an eight-episode reboot in 2018.
Today—after nearly a month of speculation—the network confirmed the hit show, which initially aired on ABC from 1988 to 1997, and the entire original cast, (Roseanne), John Goodman (Dan), Sara Gilbert (Darlene), Laurie Metcalf (Jackie), Michael Fishman (D.J.) and Lecy Goranson (Becky) will return to their working-class Illinois roots. Actress Sarah Chalke (who replaced Lecy Goranson as Becky in later seasons) will also take on a mystery role.
The network’s decision to dust off the critically acclaimed comedy stems from the hope to reinvent the blue-collar family America once found so relatable.
