Rihanna already checked off “America's youngest self-made billionaire” on her list of accomplishments, and now, it looks like the Barbadian singer is taking a *small* step back from her busy work life.
As reported by Vogue Business, the 35-year-old is leaving her position as CEO of Savage X Fenty. Rihanna launched the lingerie brand in May 2018, and Forbes estimated in 2021 that the company was worth over $1 billion.
Who could ever fill the shoes of RiRi? Well, Hillary Super will be taking over the position (AKA the former global chief executive officer of the brand Anthropologie). Super held her previous CEO position from 2019 to 2021.
But, Rihanna isn't stepping away from the Savage X Fenty line entirely. The Grammy winner will continue to serve as an executive chair for the company.
In the announcement, Rihanna told Vogue Business, “It’s been beautiful to see our vision for Savage X Fenty impact the industry at such an incredible magnitude over the last five years. This is just the beginning for us, and we’re going to continue to expand in ways that always connect with the consumer.”
Rihanna first ventured outside of the music world when she launched her Fenty Beauty cosmetics line in September 2017. She then expanded the Fenty brand into lingerie the following year, followed by a full fashion house in 2019 (which was then closed in 2021).
In 2021, RiRi was named America's youngest self-made billionaire in the world by Forbes. While she hasn't released a studio album since 2016's Anti, the singer welcomed her first child, named RZA Athelston Mayers, with rapper A$AP Rocky in May 2022. Then, while headlining the Super Bowl this past February, the entrepreneur announced that she and A$AP are expecting their second child, due later this year.
We don't know when Rihanna gets any sleep (but hopefully she'll get a little more now before that second baby arrives).
