It’s not every day that you get mistaken for a gorgeous Grammy-award-winning singer-songwriter, so you might as well embrace it when it happens. Or at least that’s what Reese Witherspoon must have been thinking.
The 44-year-old actress shared on Twitter that she had a run-in with someone who confused her with country singer Carrie Underwood. (They’re both blonde…we guess it could happen?)
Witherspoon tweeted, “To the woman in the parking lot who just asked me if I was Carrie Underwood: You officially made my day!”
But to make matters even better, 37-year-old Underwood responded to the tweet too.
“YOUR day?!?!?!?! That lady just made my whole life!” she wrote, implying that the mistake was a huge compliment.
We have to admit, at first we didn’t really understand the confusion. Sure, Witherspoon and Underwood are both blonde, but they don’t actually look that much alike, do they?
But the fan who allegedly made the mistake also responded to the tweet, clearing up a lot of our confusion in the process.
“OMGGGG! That was ME,” she wrote. “Haha, I swear when I walked away I was like wait, that was totally Reese Witherspoon! I could barley see your face cause the mask and hat but I knew you looked so familiar haha. I LOVE YOU.”
So Witherspoon was wearing a mask and a cowboy hat. Yep, this all makes sense now. Mystery solved—now when will someone confuse us for a celeb?
