The trailer for Reese Witherspoon’s newest film, Home Again, was just released and it’s pure Nancy Meyers (spawn) gold.
Witherspoon plays Alice, a self-professed "newly separated loser" trying to sort out her life. One magical evening—the night of her 40th birthday—Alice is blessed with three fairy godmothers in the form of three very attractive young men, and, on a whim, she invites them all to move in. Her two young daughters don’t seem to mind, but her ex-husband (Michael Sheen) feels a bit differently. Naturally, all three fairy Adonises fall in love with Alice. We watched the trailer ten times and we still can’t. Stop. Smiling.
In addition to Alice triumphantly bumping Madeline Martha Mackenzie from her top spot on our favorite Reese Witherspoon character list, the other exciting news about Home Again is that it’s written and directed by Hallie Meyers-Shyer. If Meyers-Shyer's name rings a bell, it’s because she’s the daughter of rom-com screenwriting queen Nancy Meyers. (Think The Parent Trap, Something’s Gotta Give, It’s Complicated and basically every other film we have zero shame watching and dedicating our Sundays to as Bravo broadcasts them on loop.)
Home Again also stars Candice Bergen, Lake Bell and Nat Wolff and is set to hit theaters September 2017.
