Fans are starting to wonder if Reese Witherspoon is somehow related to Drew Barrymore after the Big Little Lies star, 44, posted a throwback photo on social media. (Disclaimer: She’s not.)
Yesterday, Witherspoon celebrated Veteran’s Day by sharing a never-before-seen picture of her grandparents, Jimmy and Dorothea. We can’t stop staring at her chic grandma, who is wearing a delicate white dress as she candidly looks off in the distance.
While there’s no denying the resemblance between Witherspoon and her grandmother, fans were quick to point out that Dorothea also looks like another popular celebrity (AKA Barrymore).
Some stated the obvious, writing, “For a second I thought your grandma was Drew Barrymore!” A few commented on the familial likeness, saying, “You look exactly like your grandma! Beautiful!” Others made us want to re-watch some of Witherspoon’s best movies: “Is that why there’s a Dorothea in Sweet Home Alabama?”
In the caption, Witherspoon thanked veterans for their service. “Remembering my Grandpa Jimmy who served in the US Army, and my grandma Dorothea who raised two sons who served in the US Air Force and the US Navy,” it read. “God Bless all the soldiers who fight for our freedom and keep this country safe. And God Bless all the military families who wait for them to come home.”
Amen to that.
