Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?.because actor Rami Malek (Mr. Robot) looks exactly like Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in the first photo released from the upcoming biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.
In the hot-off-the-press image, Malek portrays the music icon’s 1985 Live Aid performance, six years before he tragically lost his battle with AIDS. With his short hair, mustache and skin-tight blue jeans, the Mr. Robot star looks nearly identical to Mercury.
Even Malek was shocked at how perfectly he captured the musician’s essence after a little time in the hair and makeup chair. He told Entertainment Weekly, “When you’re able to open your eyes and see a different person staring back at you in the mirror, it’s a very affirming moment.”
Bohemian Rhapsody recounts Queen’s meteoric rise to fame from when Mercury first got together with Brian May and Roger Taylor in 1970 all the way to their performance at Live Aid in London, England.
The Bryan Singer-directed film hits theaters December 25, 2018, and all we can say is yass, Queen, yass!
